I’m interested, what now?
We are happy to see that you are interested in joining us for this experience to act on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Asian and European higher education communities!
We received an impressive number of applications from promising students across all 51 ASEM Partner Countries. We have carefully reviewed each application for the conference, considering individual merits, while also striving to ensure a diverse group of students from different backgrounds.
The selection process to participate on-site to the conference is now complete and 51 participants from the 51 ASEM Partner Countries have been selected to attend. However, you can still take part to the webinars conducted during the online preparation phase of ARC7, where you can learn about the brand-new sustainability trends and challenges in higher education from the invited experts; Share the expert papers, opinion articles and interviews conducted throughout the project to inspire you; Ensure your virtual participation at some of the sessions at ARC7 via online streaming, whereby you can also ask questions from the speakers; Take into consideration the policy recommendations you made in your online application form.
If you wish to stay involved into ARC7 activities online and make the best use out of it, please let us know via this link so that we can keep you updated.
We encourage you to stay in touch with us by following the ASEFEdu Facebook Page and be updated with the latest opportunities and Open Calls.
How were participants selected?
The Open Call and the screening process adopt a non-discriminative approach ensuring a balanced geographic representation, gender balance and fair access to all. In doing so, the organisers do not discriminate any applicant or participant on the basis of his or her race, national origin (ancestry), colour, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, pregnancy, disability, religion (creed), marital status, or age.
Applicants who met the eligibility criteria were screened by ASEF and the Organising partners. We were looking for students with a curious, analytical and reflective mind-set who has through their choices of education, profession or personal activities showcased a strong interest and potential knowledge on the key thematic areas of the project, namely: Sustainable Development, Higher Education, the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs), University Societal Impact, and Internationalisation of higher education.
We were also looking for individuals who have the potential and interest to continue the work started through ARC7 within their own communities as spin-off activities at home, hence multiplying the outcomes of the project.
Consequently, the leading objective during the screening process was to identify a diverse group of students who have illustrated characteristics of societal interest and commitment to serve communities related to the topics of the project. We have carefully reviewed each application for the conference, considering individual merits, while also striving to ensure a diverse group of students from different backgrounds.
