Dr Sheikh Lukman S A Hamid has been appointed as the Director of LifeLong Learning Centre under the Higher Education of the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. Previously he was one of the senior management team who leads six schools under the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) ranging from Aviation, Business, Building Services, ICT, Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism sector.
Dr Hamid has acquired over 18 years of experience in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from teaching to department head and held several positions in management such as Deputy Principal before being appointed as the Central Principal in 2015. Dr Hamid graduated from the University of Southern California, USA in 2015 with a Doctoral Degree in Global Executive in Leadership and Education. Moreover, he earned his Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough and Leicester University, UK respectively.
Since 2017, Dr Hamid has also been appointed as an adjunct professor at the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD). Additionally, Dr Hamid lectures modules on leadership & management, innovation in Higher Institutions and chairs a few PHD candidates.
