Dr Sheikh Lukman S A Hamid is the Director of the Lifelong Learning Centre under the Ministry of Education, Brunei Darussalam. Previously, he was a member of the senior management team that led six schools under the Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), ranging from Aviation, Business, Building Services, ICT, Engineering, Hospitality and Tourism.
Dr Hamid acquired over 18 years of experience in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) from teaching department heads. He held several positions in management, such as Deputy Principal and Central Principal. Dr Hamid received his Doctoral Degree in Global Executive in Leadership and Education from the University of Southern California, USA, in 2015. He earned his Masters and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Loughborough and Leicester University, UK, respectively.
Since 2017, Dr Hamid has served as an adjunct professor at the University of Brunei Darussalam (UBD). Additionally, Dr Hamid lectures modules on leadership and management, innovation in higher education institutions, and chairs a few PhD candidates.
