Dr Gerard Mullally is a lecturer in Sociology and research associate with the Environmental Research Institute, MaREI, the Cleaner Production Promotion Unit and the Institute for Social Sciences in the 21st century, all at UCC. In 2019, he was responsible for the academic coordination of an international summer school on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Global Goals Local Action: Making Sustainability Work, organised by UCC, UMASS (Lowell), UNAL (Colombia) and the Ludgate Hub in Skibbereen. Dr Mullally has been an invited delegate to international working groups and expert groups on sustainability and climate change e.g. Trans-Atlantic Research and Development Interchange on Sustainability (TARDIS) – A Scientific Workshop (Graz 2017); JPI Climate Expert Workshop on Social Sciences and Humanities in Climate Services Research, Venice (2017). He was a member of Earth System Governance, Taskforce on Conceptual Foundations: Environmental Policy Integration, hosted by the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development.
