Ms Ligia DECA

Ms Ligia Deca holds a PhD in Political Science, awarded by the University of Luxemburg in 2016. She graduated as head of her class at the Navigation and Naval Transport Department of the Maritime University of Constanța, where she also obtained a Master’s degree in Maritime and Port Management. Ms Deca coordinated the Coalition for Clean Universities in 2008, within the framework of an Academic Society of Romania (SAR) project that aimed to assess the integrity of Romanian higher education institutions. She was the president of the European Students Union between 2008 and 2010. Between 2010 and 2012 she was head of the Bologna Secretariat and between 2012 and 2015, she was an expert with the Executive Agency for Financing Higher Education and Research (UEFISCDI), as well as a lecturer on formation and educational inclusion at the West University of Timișoara (from 2014 to 2015). She has previously coordinated the „Future of Higher Education” Bologna Process researchers’ conferences. She is a member of the jury for the European Award for Excellence in Teaching in the Social Sciences and Humanities granted by the Central European University (CEU). In 2014 she was selected as a member of the Science in Education Expert Group – SEEG, convened by the European Commission.
