Professor Ioan-Aurel Pop, President of the Romanian Academy, Professor and Rector of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, is the author and co-author of more than 80 books, treaties and manuals and of over 700 studies and articles, the most recent being “Istoria ilustrată a românilor pentru tineri” (2018) and “Istoria, adevărul și miturile” (3rd edition, revised and added, 2018). Granted the Doctor Honoris Causa title by 10 national and foreign universities. Member of several academies and scholarly societies, among which the European Academy of Science and Arts in Salzburg (Austria), the Virgilian National Academy in Mantua (Italy), Ateneo Veneto in Venice (Italy), the European Academy of Sciences, Arts and Letters in Paris (France), he was a visiting professor to universities of the U.S.A., Italy, France, Hungary, Austria, and the Director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York (U.S.A.) and the Romanian Institute of Culture and Humanistic Research in Venice (Italy).
