Dr Kay Thwe Hlaing is a Pro-Rector of Yangon University of Education. She obtained her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Geography from the University of Yangon. Her PhD was awarded from the University of Tokyo, Japan in 2008. She was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Japanese Society for Promotion of Sciences from 2012 to 2014. Her expertise lies in Environmental Studies especially in Geomorphology and Hydrology. Dr HLAING has more than 22 years of working experience, ranging from being a tutor at University of Yangon, Assistant Lecturer at Dawei University, Lecturer at University of Yangon, Associate Professor at Bago University and Professor at University of Yangon. She also works as a part time member of AG at National Water Resources Committee. Dr HLAING has also published 44 papers, most of which are in international journals, and written two text books. Her research focuses on Myanmar’s rivers and its water, sediments and channel morphology.
