Dr Jongryn MO

Dr Jongryn MO is currently a professor of international political economy at the Graduate School of International Studies, Yonsei University, where he teaches courses on international political economy, Korean development, and cultural economics. He wrote, with Barry Weingast, “Korean Political and Economic Development: Crisis, Security and Institutional Rebalancing” (2013) and with John Ikenberry, “The Rise of Korean Leadership: Emerging Powers and Liberal International Order” (2013), and edited “Middle Powers and G20 Governance” (2013). He is also the author of two recent books on the future of Korean cities, “Small Towns, Big Companies” (2014) and the “Rise of the Lifestyle City” (2016). At Yonsei, he has held several senior administrative positions including as the first dean of Underwood International College (2005-2008) and a vice president for international affairs (2012-2016). Prior to joining Yonsei in 1996, Dr Mo was an assistant professor at the University of Texas at Austin. In ARC7, Dr Mo is a speaker in the Working Group Session Part 1 “Taking Action at Home: SDGs as Core Pillars of University Governance”.
